[ thread is set days after this ]
It has been several days since Peter and Lucy's departure to Anvard to attend their late-summer harvest. Susan has been on the receiving end of Lucy's many and detailed depictions of their activities, and a part of her is envious that both Lucy and Peter were there to see such beautiful, festive things, whereas she and Edmund were left behind in Cair Paravel... enduring the most horrid of things.
Of course, after that thought Susan feels terribly ashamed for even entertaining it. Blast Edmund for putting such thoughts in her head!
Two days ago, Susan receives word from her older brother that they are journeying back to Cair in no less than two days' time. The castle then prepares for the return of its beloved High King and Valiant Queen and readies itself for a sumptuous feast. Susan herself is preparing for a completely different reason; she looks forward to seeing her siblings again, though her intentions for it may not be wholly... innocent.
She is told that Peter's entourage has been spotted coming towards Cair Paravel. Susan smiles and rises from her seat.

no subject
He is the Just King, after all. Best to be keeping up appearances.
"Finally," Edmund murmurs at Susan's side, pushing himself to his feet a moment after. "Look at the lot of them! Fattened up from the harvest, aren't they?"
anything goes thread however you please idk
like i'd thread any other way
And yet his eyes are bright and sweet with affection untempered; though the siblings four of Cair Paravel's thrones may toss each other nightly from the ramparts of constructed humor, in the end parting from one another will still always be a trial.
Still, Edmund is a king and (nearly) a man. He'll leave the sentimentality to Peter. And the girls, yes, but mostly Peter.
wow rude
...almost.
where is everyone :c
He rubs at his arm, absently — for all of her so-called gentleness, those dainty arms of Susan's hide a great deal of strength.
idk quick fix it
She sees Lucy almost bouncing on her feet as she makes her way towards her older siblings, and, as always Susan feels a surge of affection for her younger sister. Despite their many and varied differences Susan dearly loves Lucy, and this is the part of her that says she doesn't deserve whatever they had in store for the returning pair.
Peter, on the other hand, is a completely different matter.
Here Susan draws closer to Edmund and speaks even more softly: "Don't you think Lu would enjoy the lessons, though? You know how she loves all things about Narnia. Perhaps this won't even be any sort of punishment for her!"
why do i have to do all the work around here!!
"—now you're speaking with sense. She'll be chattering about nothing but Minotaur unmentionables for the next season, and we'll be the ones to suffer." But Edmund is half-distracted by the incumbent party; soon he's forgoing protocol entirely to take Susan's hand and pull her along as he descends from the raised dais housing their royal seats.
Avoiding you obviously.
Spending time with their subjects and learning their traditions was always rewarding, and Peter never tired of the look of wonder at each new thing Lucy came across.
"—honestly, the expression on his face—Ed! Su!"
Peter immediately brightened upon seeing his siblings, and after he excused himself from the party, he came to meet them halfway in the throne room.
[ooc: I'm sorry for the hideously late tag. Life kicked me in the ass and then I forgot about this. ;;; Also excuse the lack of icons.]
i did not even realize this was a thing!
"I win, Peter!" She calls out, looking over her shoulder as she runs ahead of him, her face alight. Even when she sees her siblings, she grins and bounds up to them. Edmund seems to be the first in her path, so no doubt he will get a smothering Lucy hug.
"Oh, Edmund, you should have come. You, too, Su! Did you get my letters? I did try and write one every hour, even!" She grins brightly, still bubbling over with joy from the harvest experience.
IT IS NOW IDEK
Her sister's letters are, in fact, sitting on Susan's desk. While their numbers aren't anywhere near hundreds like Lucy's claim implies, there are a considerable number - proving her sister's enthusiasm in sharing what she's seen.
