Her conversation with Lucy had left a bitter taste in her mouth.
Susan loved her siblings dearly, but she knew that Lucy, perhaps, was the one she barely understood. They were too different - Lucy was too free-spirited, too carefree, whereas Susan wasn't. Perhaps Susan was too controlled, too bound by what she thought was right. The way they view and feel about duty was simply too different that it was inevitable for them to clash.
And tonight, they did.
Slowly, Susan left the main hall and made her way to her own chambers with a heavy heart.
