With the White Witch defeated and a sense of peace prevailing over Narnia, Peter has finally been able to settle into the role of High King. His days are filled with paperwork and foreign policies, many new councillors greeting him and begging his ear for new ideas. While this new role gave him a great sense of duty and responsibility, and like always, Peter rose to the challenge.
Sometimes, even though he has come to love the job Narnia has given him, he has to slip away. He is settled in one of the balconies today, overlooking the great sea of Narnia. He leans against he marble parapets, the sun warming his face, and the breeze cooling his skin. It's silent, save for the idle chatter of birds or the giggles of Lucy down below, dancing with the tree nymphs. His heart stirs in awe of the beautiful place. What a land he was given, he thinks when he is alone. And sometimes, he doubts Aslan's confidence in him.
He's just a boy. How is he supposed to take care of so many beautiful, wonderful things?
